When Was The Last Time You Took The Strain Off YOUR Website!

September 30, 2007 | Leave a Comment

Today’s highly successful online marketers are using VIDEO and AUDIO to drive their businesses forward.

Hopefully you are too?

Software like Camtasia Studio has made it much easier to create compelling sales videos to boost conversion rates… Or perhaps you love creating viral videos for your subscribers?

….now imagine the scene:  You just emailed your list about a new video on your website. They know and trust you so you drive a lot of traffic to your site.

However, you no longer use YouTube.com to host your videos, due to the fact they are placing adverts in their videos from 2008! So now you now have them on your website, along with your sales pages and maybe even a blog.

“BUT NO ONE CAN VIEW THEM PROPERLY!”

If a lot of people start watching your videos at the same time you WILL run into problems. Serving a lot of video (or even audio) will slow down your websites ability to keep up with all the viewers and so viewing problems occur. You definitely want to avoid this!

No one wants to sit and watch your sales video, with its stops and starts, as it constantly buffers the video into your computer’s memory.

This is particularly the case on cheap shared hosting accounts!

In this Web 2.0 world we live in it is not uncommon to suddenly receive large amounts of traffic from social bookmarking websites like DIGG.com.

You only have one opportunity to make a good impression on a new customer….

Videos (and audios) that constantly stop and start during playback are avoidable, if you use the correct resources!

That’s why top Internet Marketers like John Reese and popular websites like www.trippermap.com and www.wordpress.com use the Amazon S3 storage network to host their media files… (UPDATE: the guys at StomperNet.com are now using Amazon S3 too.)

I rely on Amazon S3 for my own support and training videos being seen pain free. For instance, when you purchase Data Bucket Pro to manage your Amazon S3 account(s) I am giving you as a bonus the popular “Cloak & Tracker” software.

ALL customers receive access to the training videos: http://www.cloakandtracksoftware.com/videos.html

Naturally they are hosted on Amazon S3to make sure no matter HOW many viewers hit that page at the same time, they ALL have a positive viewing experience!

So shouldn’t YOU be taking a look too?

THIS Should Scare You - Data Loss!

September 30, 2007 | Leave a Comment

The “heart” of your business is probably your data…

And that information (emails, PDF, Videos, HTML Files etc..) is stored on a series of magnetic discs that spin at speeds of around 7,000 to 10,000 revolutions a minute. But they are just mechanical devices and sometimes they FAIL!

Your hard disk can fail in one of 4 typical ways that will lead to loss of your important data files:

#  Firmware Corruption
#  Electronic Failure
#  Mechanical Failure
#  Logical Corruption

Even combinations of these four types of failure are also possible!

ALSO consider:

#  Multi-million pound battery recalls from Sony and Dell this year as laptops went up in flames?
#  1,000’s of laptops each year are left in the back of taxis and on public transport
#  Houses catch fire - floods happen - thieves strike!

“DON’T Ever Think This Couldn’t Happen To You!”

Where are YOUR backups? Are you even making copies of your important files?

As an IT professional I see this all the time… folks call me for help but when I ask for their data backups they either have none or they are so old they are just useless. Another common mistake is creating backups and then keeping them in the same room as your computer! Remember the unexpected can happen: houses catch fire - floods happen - thieves strike…

YOU MUST make copies of your important files and store them OFF-SITE!

When you upload your important files to Amazon S3, using the Data Bucket Pro software, it is first ”scanned” by our software to check the integrity of your file (This is called an MD5 hash) Then, when you upload your file, it is stored within MULTIPLE data centres on the advanced Amazon S3 network.

Once the file has finished uploading Data Bucket Pro will ask the Amazon S3 network to quickly run an MD5 hash to check the file integrity of the uploaded file. If the MD5 hash’s match, your file was NOT corrupted whilst being uploaded and is now safely stored on Amazon S3.

If the MD5 hash’s do not match then our software will upload your file again automatically!

Because your file is now stored in MULTIPLE secure locations, there is NO single point of failure that can wipe out your files…

Shouldn’t YOU be using Data Bucket Pro to place all YOUR precious backups on Amazon S3 today?
