Let Me Tell You A Story…

In 2006, a well known ecommerce company made available a NEW service to software developers - and they named it Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service).

The company was Amazon and the service was an instant hit!

Large companies like Microsoft started to use it, and that’s when I spotted it. It was a service unlike anything I had seen before, AND I wanted to know if i could use it in my online business.

“The more I read about Amazon S3 the more I was shocked!”

You see, my own business could use this simple web service to store and retrieve ANY amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web.

…and that meant Video & Audio for my websites!

Suddenly I had access to the same highly scalable, reliable, fast, inexpensive data storage infrastructure that Amazon uses to run its own global network of web sites. e.g Amazon.com,  Amazon.co.uk & Amazon.ca. Even web sites like Borders.com,  Borders.co.uk, Waldenbooks.com, Virginmega.com, CDnow.com and HMV.com - are powered and hosted by Amazon using the S3 service!

This reliable service claimed it could maximize the benefits of a large scale network and pass those benefits on to me and my business. If Amazon were allowing me to use the very hardware that they use to run their own business - I wanted to know more…

And when I finally realized that I could “outsource” my critical multimedia content to them - at a very low price -  and so scale up my business without having to move hosting accounts… I was sold on Amazon S3 as a fast, scalable and inexpensive data storage solution for the small business! But there was a problem -  Amazon ONLY offered a set of programming tools for accessing Amazon S3.

That’s OK if you are a large business and have a software developer on staff… but most Internet Marketers are a small business working from home (sound familiar?). So I discussed this with my business colleague Rob (a fellow online marketer and “techie”) and we set about creating some software that would allow us to use this flexible service in our day to day businesses.

“And so the software utility Data Bucket Pro was born…“

Then, back in July 2007, I read a blog post by the famous Internet Marketer John Reese. In it he explained he was using it in his business and was recommending Amazon S3 to his readers. I knew then that I should be sharing this software with others…

So Rob and I sat down and re-wrote the software from the ground up to make it more user friendly (hey we are techies!) and now we are making this software available for YOUR business too.

This has not been outsourced to anyone else. We have hand written EVERY line of code! We also know Amazon S3 in great detail. In fact we have several new versions of our software planned in the coming months - each adding even more great features for you to use.

System Requirements:

To run Data Bucket Pro you need to be running Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista and have the Java Runtime Enviroment installed (most have!). There is even a Mac OSX version too…
